Like every year we went to have our open air iftar this ramadan. We have been doing it for 7 years now. It started in the year 2000. At that time we were 3 in number(Razib, Jashim & me). In 2001 again we 3 arranged it. In 2002 Khalid was included so we became 4 in number and upto 2003 we 4 used to arrange that party. In 2004 Tasnim was included and we became 5 in number and we became 6 in number in the year 2006 when Shujon was included.
We took the necessary things from home like lemonade, water, onion, chilly, salt, newspapers, a bed sheet and so on. Its like a picnic iftar :D The place we go is at the edge of the city near a village and there is a weekly village market held on every wednesday. That's why we use to arrange the party on any of the wednesday in ramadan every year. We buy the necessary foods like jhal boot, ghoomny, peyaju, alur chop, beguni, muri, dates, jilapi, salad etc. from that village market. We have a boat ride to cross the lake full of very dirty stinking water. We have our iftar the other side of the lake where there is no people and the place is an open one.
I think the pictures will give you some idea about it :)
Here is the beguni, alur chop and jhal boot
This is the place where those are fried... the burning oil on the cooker made of mud.
Have a look of the village market.
We are crossing the lake by boat. Jashim is holding salad item :)
The other side of the lake. The gang is heading to the destination.
Preparing everything for the iftar.
Jashim is praying magrib salah.
Gossiping and having fun after the iftar.
Burning the newspapers and every other wastes
The flame is rising
Guys went crazy like tribal people :P
Khalid is lighting the cigarette from that flame :D Its very risky because the heat is extreme around the ashes.
